October Luncheon - Pink Ribbon Day 2006

Pink Ribbon Day Group 1

The month of October has long been recognised as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so for the ladies of the Catholic Women's League it was an ideal time for them to hold a "Pink" Luncheon in the Polding Centre.
Members were invited to wear Pink! After an informative talk by Sue Cameron of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation who detailed the ongoing research achievements, a young mother with 2 children - a survivor - told her story.

Pauline Don spoke of her journey from the time she received the shattering news that she had breast cancer, to confronting surgery, treatment and finally a successful result.
A generous donation from the luncheon club ladies will assist the continuing research into Breast Cancer, which can be a life threatening disease not only for women but surprisingly also for men.
