Malabar Charity Luncheon 2007

For many years members of Catholic Women's League have generously responded when various needs in the community are brought to their attention.
This CWL Sydney's Project of the Year is Rural Support for the Diocese of Wilcannia - Forbes.
The Malabar Branch hosted a function at South Sydney Juniors, this being the 9th year of this now legendary Charity Luncheon to support this initiative.
Mrs Ruth Kelly warmly welcomed more than 250 guests. This event continues to be bigger and better every year.
Business houses in the area contribute outstanding prizes and this combined with the very polished performance of Adam Scicluna left nothing to be desired. Adam is an entertainer and singer of the highest acclaim.
Sydney President, Moya Potts congratulated Ruth on a fabulous day and her wonderful committee in making the event a huge success. Money raised will be forwarded to Sister Margaret Cameron OAM in the Wilcannia - Forbes Diocese to assist where needed.

Jean Arnot - Memorial Luncheon
The 15th Jean Arnot Memorial Luncheon was held on Monday 30 April 2007 at The Strangers' Dining Room, Parliament House, Sydney. What a wonderful day! So many beautiful and bright 90 years old and above ladies - Happy Birthday and a celebration of the people they are.
There were forty -four ladies honoured on the day and a profile of each of them was included in a booklet given on the day.
And now to our two special girls on the day - Sydney Diocesan Members of Catholic Women's League - Eileen Fitzpatrick and Florence McGuire - we say congratulations and well done!
We were very proud to be with them in this acknowledgment of the people they have been and are. Eileen was accompanied by Mary Cantrall and Josephine Ryan, Florence was with Noreen Keoghan and her daughter Helen. The others who joined and celebrated with them on their table were Margaret and Nancy, Helen and Denise, Moya and Chris.
What a great day. We look forward to catching up with them in good health and happy days, with love, CWL Sydney.
