Dr Sophie McGrath's talk was entitled: The Evolution of Catholic Women - an historical perspective

Mary Schultz

Mary Schulz - CWLA National President ...

Mary encouraged us to participate in the public debate and reminded us that Catholic Women's League is an organisation in which everyone can play a significant part.

She also hopes that we keep 'evolving in faith and action'.

Simon Stroud - Caritas Representative.

Simon is the African/Latin America Project Leader and spoke of his work in Mozambique.
Caritas has been involved in the water/agriculture and HIV/Aids project in the Gaza Province.
This Province is on the border of Kruger National Park - [New Trans-Frontier National Park of Zimbabwe, South Africa and Mozambique]
The Caritas project involved the installation of a diesel-piped water system, which pumps water from the Limpopo River and saves the women hours each day.
Before the water pump was installed, they would walk seven kilometres to the river, fill their 20litre/kg water container and carry it back on their heads.
